Robin and Joe are having a baby!

I was so happy to photograph this cool couple at such an important time in their lives.   They are wonderful people, extremely talented writers and are so much fun to be around.

We spent the afternoon at Promontory Point and watched a field of dragonflies skip through the air while reclining under ancient Maple trees, enjoying the breeze off the lakefront.

Okay, I didn’t recline… I dug my knees, elbows and, at times, eyebrows into the earth while they reclined… looking impossibly comfortable and relaxed while doing so.

Thanks for scaling stone structures, submitting your clothes to possible grass stains and for being such troopers, you two.   You are an amazing team.

  • Joe - Thanks so much Candice! We had a great time out on the point with you, and the pics look awesome. It was such a nice change from going into a portrait studio and standing in front of some paint-splatter background as some guy tells you to turn your cheek left, right, left, right. It was easy to look natural because you made us feel at ease during the shoot. The result is that actual emotions come through in facial expressions that would otherwise be forgotten as the candid moments in between when a typical portrait shooter would be setting up his next shot.

  • Emily Le Coz - Wow. Those are really beautiful photographs! Both Robin and Joe look amazing, and their natural expressions really come through. My husband is a photojournalist and I know he’ll be jealous when he sees these shots! 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Mom Carlson - I thought the pictures were beautiful. They were warm and loving and invoked a wonderful time of great dreams for a couple. They were intimate pictures but not over revealing. You did a terrific job! And I enjoyed seeing them.ReplyCancel
