Cheney Mansion Weddings: Angelica and Sultan

In one day, Angelica and Sultan got married, hit some golf balls, and danced outside in an intimate Oak Park wedding reception at the Cheney Mansion.  Their lovely ceremony was held in the historic Saint Giles Catholic Parish, filled with cool marble, beautiful stained glass windows and a small gathering of family and friends.  Their ceremony was personable, musical, and happy– just like the two of them!

What do you do with a large gap of time between the wedding ceremony and reception?  Go to the driving range, of course!  I loved that golfing was new to Angelica, and all of their friends and family shared a fun excursion together with cold drinks and appetizers while hitting balls at the Top Golf Driving Range.  A big thank you to the staff at Top Golf for allowing me to set up lights, use a granite coffee table and drink menu to shoot reflections, and keeping me and my assistant hydrated!  I had so much fun there– how often do you get to photograph a beautiful bride at the driving range?  A definite first for me (and hopefully, not the last time!)

This beautiful Cheney Mansion wedding reception at the was the perfect ending to a fun day together.  Cocktails were served outside along with sweet sounds from my friends at Toast and Jam while the happy couple danced outdoors in the courtyard.  In one hilarious moment, their cutting the cake photographs turned into a “Hey, our cake knife broke in half!”  I love any couple that can take a broken cake knife and laugh about it!

It was such a lovely day, I won’t forget their intimate wedding or their fun golf outing for a long time!  Thank you so much, Angelica and Sultan, and I wish you nothing but the very best!  Enjoy your photographs!
