There’s something wonderfully honest about a Beagle.

As a Chicago pet photographer, I’ve found that Beagles are incredibly expressive. They approach life with curiosity, enthusiasm, and an infectious joy that shines through in every portrait.

What I’ve Learned Photographing Beagles

If they’ve caught an interesting scent, good luck convincing them it’s not worth investigating.
That honesty is what makes photographing them so enjoyable.
Some of my favorite Beagle portraits happen during the quiet pauses between moments of exploration. They glance back toward their family, their ears relax, and for just a second, their playful energy gives way to a look that’s calm, trusting, and full of love.
Those are the moments I wait for.

Instead, I let each dog’s personality shape the experience.
