Tips to make sure your pet loves the new space as much as you!

As spring approaches, many pet owners are looking to move into new apartments and houses. There are dozens of factors that need to be considered while house hunting; especially with a fur baby!

  1. Explore your options and do your research.
Most condo or building associations will have fees in order for your pet to live there, and even sometimes have restrictions on pet size and breed. Websites like Hot Spot Rentals  realtors that help direct you to vacant dog friendly spaces.
  2. Does your building have any pet-menities?
A lot of Chicago dog-friendly residences offer complimentary treats in the lobby or spaces to wash and dry your dog after fun days out and about. If your community does not have any of these options, make sure to walk around and find parks and green spaces for your dog to play and potty.
  3. Offer to bring your pet on the tour!
The best way to make sure your fluffy buddy enjoys the possible new space is to have them sniff around and explore the space as much as possible. Help them become comfortable the with space and surrounding area.
  4. Get to know the environment.
Talking to neighbors in the community will help you gage how your pet would be treated by management and landlords. It is always vital to make sure your buddy will be treated with kindness and all of the pets in the world!
  5. Most importantly be honest!
There is a chance you’ll fall in love with a residence and pets will not be allowed. Sometimes certain landlords might allow you to have a pet if you inquire about it.

Happy House Hunting!
