THE RAINBOW RESCUE PROJECT: CHICAGO PET PHOTOGRAPHER

In June of 2023, the team at Candice C. Cusic Photography came together to celebrate Pride month and support the LGBTQIA+ community. Our aim was to increase visibility and recognition for our LGBTQIA+ friends, family, and loved ones in a unique and impactful way. Thus, we embarked on a project that had never been done before.

Working in collaboration with Chicago Canine Rescue and Perfectly Posh Paws, we photographed over twenty adoptable dogs. These photos served as the foundation for a Pride flag, and we titled this special endeavor the Rainbow Rescue Project.

The Rainbow Rescue Project symbolizes unity, love, and inclusivity, paying tribute to the LGBTQIA+ community. Through this initiative, we sought to raise awareness and promote acceptance for all individuals, while simultaneously highlighting the importance of pet adoption.

By combining our passion for photography and advocacy, we hope to inspire others to embrace diversity and support LGBTQIA+ rights. The Rainbow Rescue Project stands as a testament to our commitment to fostering a more inclusive and compassionate world.

We encourage you to download and share our Pride Flag! Want to give your fur baby some Pride love? Contact us here!

Meet Zeno.

After being surrendered by his owner, Zeno has spent more than a year waiting at Red Door Animal Shelter for someone to choose him.

And somehow, after all this time, he’s still soft. Still trusting. Still hopeful.

Cats like Zeno don’t need perfection. They just need someone willing to see them.

Seen. Heard. Loved.

Meet Tootsie 💛
⠀
Surrendered by her owner, Tootsie arrived at Hinsdale Humane Society with little to no information about her past. That’s where we stepped in.
⠀
Nicole, Administrative Manager at Hinsdale Humane Society, brought Tootsie to us and is part of this moment you’re seeing—helping us begin to understand who Tootsie really is.
⠀
The See Hear Love Project is the only project that combines animal communication and professional photography—helping uncover each dog’s story and showing who they truly are.
⠀
Now it’s Tootsie’s turn to be seen for exactly who she is 💫
