West Town Chicago Pet Photography Studio: What It’s Like to Visit (Plus Parking)

Animal communicator & photographer, Candice C Cusic, and her clients: golden brown large dog with man and woman couple on couch

If you’ve been thinking about professional pet portraits but keep putting it off because you don’t want to deal with driving downtown Chicago with your dog, you’re not alone.

That’s exactly why my studio is located in West Town, Chicago—just 15 minutes west of downtown—so clients can have a calm, private experience without the stress of heavy city traffic.

Here’s what it’s like to visit Candice C. Cusic Photography, and what to expect when you arrive.

A Calm, Private Studio Experience (Designed for Pets)

My studio is set up specifically for photographing pets and the people who love them. This is not a crowded public space, and sessions are never rushed.

It’s a private, boutique environment where we can focus on:

  • your pet’s comfort
  • natural expression
  • timeless portraits designed to become artwork

Easy Arrival (Yes, Parking Is Manageable)

One of the biggest reasons clients love West Town is that it’s simply easier.

No long downtown garage walks.
No stressful elevators.
No chaotic sidewalks with your dog.

West Town makes it easy to arrive, settle in, and enjoy the experience.

If Your Dog Is Nervous, That’s Okay

A lot of pet parents worry their dog won’t “behave” in a new place. That’s completely normal.

Sessions are guided and supportive, and for many sessions, a professional trainer can be available on set to help your pet feel calm and confident while we photograph them.

You don’t need a perfect dog.
You just need the right environment—and the right team.

This Isn’t “Just a Photo Session”

My work is focused on creating fine-art portraits that become artwork for your home—pieces that feel personal, elevated, and lasting.

If you’re curious what makes a portrait truly wall-worthy, you may love this post:

    Meet Zeno.

After being surrendered by his owner, Zeno has spent more than a year waiting at Red Door Animal Shelter for someone to choose him.

And somehow, after all this time, he’s still soft. Still trusting. Still hopeful.

Cats like Zeno don’t need perfection. They just need someone willing to see them.

Seen. Heard. Loved.

    Meet Tootsie 💛
⠀
Surrendered by her owner, Tootsie arrived at Hinsdale Humane Society with little to no information about her past. That’s where we stepped in.
⠀
Nicole, Administrative Manager at Hinsdale Humane Society, brought Tootsie to us and is part of this moment you’re seeing—helping us begin to understand who Tootsie really is.
⠀
The See Hear Love Project is the only project that combines animal communication and professional photography—helping uncover each dog’s story and showing who they truly are.
⠀
Now it’s Tootsie’s turn to be seen for exactly who she is 💫
